In 2010, FFD was charged with giving the legendary steakhouse a complete overhaul. The result is bright and sophisticated, modern and extravagant—but still with a good dose of its former grandeur. Historic elements like elaborate stained-glass wall panels, handmade French boiserie and columns topped with Corinthian capitals are complimented by a breathtaking vintage crystal chandelier. Replacing the antique-filled former décor are burnished golden-ash walls, low-slung white leather couches, deep basket-like chairs, hand-etched glass tabletops and gold-lamé wallpaper. Yet with all these flourishes, The Forge somehow still manages to make you feel at home.
